The PGA Tour’s California swing continues this week on the Monterey Peninsula, featuring the stunning Pebble Beach Golf Links for the Tour’s second “Signature Event” of the season. The changes made to the event for 2024 were all positive, and these enhancements will again be in place for 2025. Once more, one of the world’s most iconic golf venues will be showcased, with the top players in the Tour competing for the elevated purse.
The field is limited to 80 participants, and the 54-hole cut has been removed. Competitors will play 36 holes between Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on Thursday and Friday, eliminating the Monterey Peninsula course from the rotation. The final two rounds will be held solely at Pebble Beach Golf Links, without any amateur players participating.
Pebble Beach rates as the 17th toughest course on Tour, averaging 0.37 strokes under par per round since 2019.

Spyglass Hill averages 0.47 strokes over par per round which makes it the 8th toughest annual course.

The major highlight this week is the return of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. The reigning Player of the Year had to miss the beginning of the season due to a hand injury he sustained in a cooking accident during the holidays.
Now, Scheffler is set to kick off another dominant season. The 8-time winner in 2024 will tee off for the opening round at 12:01 p.m. ET on Thursday, playing alongside Brian Harman at Spyglass Hill.
This week also marks the beginning of Jordan Spieth’s 2025 season following wrist surgery during the offseason.
