This event has been known in history for epic playoffs, surprise winners, and an interesting course.

This event is very near and dear to my heart as it is the only PGA Tour stop on the East Coast. Just a two-hour drive from my home on Long Island, I will be in attendance Saturday and Sunday. This means I will be motivating our bets in person over the weekend.

Though most weeks after a major championship is a letdown, this week will be the opposite of that! We have a stacked field with Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Sam Burns all teeing it up in search of another win this season.

We have an interesting Pete Dye golf course that has shown that multiple different winners can emerge. One of the shortest courses on The PGA Tour schedule, it has not been one that tour pros can absolutely demolish. This course has played right around tour average and only produced a winning score of -13 last year.

Let’s get into my favorite bets for the 2022 Travelers Championship!

Outright: Denny McCarthy +6600 (BetMGM)

There has been a trend that golfers that popped up the week before the U.S Open go on and win the Travelers. Chez Reavie and Harris English both finished T3 at the U.S Open and went on to win. I think a similar situation is going to happen with Denny this week.

This Maryland native is my official pick to win this week and I really am confident. Denny finished in 7th at the U.S Open, 5th at the Memorial, and has made the cut in the last 12 starts on tour.

Denny is an elite putter that has found it with the ball striking recently and is playing some really impressive golf right now. He was two shots off the first-round lead at the Wells Fargo just a few weeks ago. I also love the fact that he finished well at 6th at the Amex (Pete Dye) and 12th at Pebble (shorter positional) earlier this year. This is the most confident I have ever been in an out over 50+ in a long time.

Top 10: Seamus Power +500 (BetRivers)

Everything I said earlier about a random golfer popping the week before and going on to finish highly is also true for Seamus.

Power gained 4.8 strokes on approach at the U.S Open on this way to a T12 finish. What I like most about Seamus is just how well he played at Pebble early in the year, going back-to-back 64s on another shorter positional course with small greens. He was dialed with his wedges that week and he will have to be again this weekend. Seamus played great at the Match Play earlier in the year, another Pete Dye track that is shorter.

+500 on a top 10 is really great odds and something that presents value at this price.

Top 20: KH Lee +340

This is not a bit, you simply play KH Lee at TPC courses. A two-time winner at TPC Craig Ranch. And countless other great finishes, almost always at TPC courses. Lee is in great form as he has already won on the PGA Tour this year, and was flashing for a round or two earlier at the Memorial.

Lee ranks 33rd in proximity from 125-150, and I’m also very impressed with his made cut at the U.S Open last week. He was able to gain over 3 strokes Off-the-tee. Course history hasn’t proved to be vital to winning here, so his average results from this event don’t worry me much.

As I said before, I think that +340 is an extremely valuable price and is a +EV bet.

Top 40: Adam Svensson +290 (FanDuel)

Svensson is coming off a 21st place finish at the Canadian Open, where he gained 6.5 strokes from Tee-to-Green. He is now at a better price and I see no reason not to go back to him. Svensson for the first time in his PGA Tour career gained strokes in every single major category. I think he continues his form this week at the Travelers.

The thing that strikes me most about Svenson is that his two best finishes on tour this season have come on shorter, more positional golf courses. A 9th place finish at the Honda Classic and a 7th place finish at the Sony Open top his season’s best. Both courses are under 7200 yards and reward accuracy off the tee, this seems to be where he excels. +290 for a top 40 is a steal in my opinion.

Matchup: Jordan Spieth over Keegan Bradley -110 (DraftKings)

I was absolutely shocked when I saw the odds for this matchup. Jordan should be a much heavier favorite in my opinion. This three-time major winner has excelled all year on shorter positional tracks. He won at RBC after the masters and finished in second place at Pebble Beach and is a past champion at this event.

In my opinion, I want Keegan on a long difficult golf course that has a lot of long irons, I believe that is where he excels. They have opposite skill sets and I believe Jordan is more well equipped to handle this course.

Featured Image: David Cannon- Getty Images

[14
29,119
post-3456","article","type-article","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","bs_type-betting","bs_tag-golf-betting","bs_tag-travelers-championship
https://api.betspertsgolf.com/raw-forum/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/gettyimages-1403928744-2048x2048-1.jpg
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/dddb0ba57c01a5c3e90660ee8076d2f3aaa8a5779809b4258cbef8e4677f7a68?s=96&d=mm&r=g
["GET
