The final team to make an appearance in the arena will tee it up tonight as Rory McIlroy’s squad “from Boston” will take on the 0-1 Jupiter Links squad, who are, for some reason, deciding to roll out Kevin Kisner again. Perhaps the conspiracy theories about the producers putting their thumb on the scale have some merit because while it’s awful hard to win a match with a guy that hits it about as far as my local teaching pro (he’s 71), Kiz was <\/em>entertaining enough and helped keep the match lively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again, it may just come down to “one team has a horrible golfer on their team, and he has to take one-third of the shots<\/strong>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kisner is taking tee shots on the longest par 5 of the day, the 2nd longest par 4, and is playing the approach shot on the longest par 4 of the triples part of the competition. Forget about blading the bunker shot; he laid up on a par 3 last time out! Being at that big of a distance disadvantage on half the holes will likely be a problem again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keegan is the Boston weak link with his suspect short game, but to his credit, he’s actually gained strokes as a whole over the past 12 rounds (his three tournaments thus far in 2025). Outside of that, Rory is maybe a top-2 player in the world when he’s on and Adam Scott is a great all-around golfer who should be fine coming up in any part of the order tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betting Odds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Included one of the props as well since I think these are both decent bets. Even with the lines starting to trickle closer to -200 (higher at some shops), I’d expect this to be another poor showing for Jupiter. Their team makeup and honestly rough usage of the hammer has me pricing them as an even bigger underdog than the market. I also like them to get out to an early lead with Rory’s driver starting things out on the 516-yard par 4. I’m not sure he tries the 330-yard carry needed to clear the lava right off the bat, but even going up the sides, he’ll have his team in good shape for a nice mid-iron into the green. As mentioned earlier, the 2nd hole is Kisner vs Scott off the tee on a 602-yard hole. Maybe someone gets weird with the hammer, but I think we’ll see at least a 2-0 lead after the first three holes here tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How TGL Golf Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The two teams of three will play the first nine holes in an \u201calternate shot\u201d that involves all three golfers. The final six holes will be singles matches where each player competes against an opposing player for the entire hole. After that, two new players will go head-to-head for the next hole, meaning each golfer will have two of the six holes for which he is responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each hole is worth one point; tied holes are worth nothing. The one caveat is THE HAMMER<\/strong>. A team can throw a hammer at any time during the hole, making it worth double the points. The opposing team has the option to decline it, but doing so concedes the hole for one point automatically. After being played, the hammer changes possession, meaning the team who was hammered can then do the hammering. In fact, if they think their opponents made a mistake and they feel confident about a hole, they can play it back immediately, making the hole worth three points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the match, the most points wins. A tied match is decided by the best two-out-of-three, closest to the pin, pitching contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
