Underdog Fantasy<\/a> does a great job of giving us so many different offerings to choose from. From round score to fairways hit, fantasy points to greens in regulation, their offerings are unmatched in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scottish Open Underdog Plays \u2013 Round 1<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The wind is the main defense for keeping scoring in check at The Renaissance Club, and the current forecast is quite benign. Even when this place has played harder when the wind kicks up, the Par 5s play under par to the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Par-5 3rd hole has played to a scoring average of 4.6, with a birdie or better rate north of 44%. Even during the final round last year, when the scoring average was by far the hardest of the week, the 3rd hole saw a birdie rate of 45%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Par-5 10th hole has played to a scoring average of 4.77, with a birdie or better rate of 33.6%. It’s been the most difficult of the three Par 5s when the weather kicks up, but in quiet conditions in Round 3 last season, it saw a 53% birdie or better rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last is the Par-5 16th hole, which has played to a scoring average of 4.79, with a birdie or better rate of 33%. Eagles are harder to come by on the 16th, but at just 524 yards, it’s quite scorable when the winds aren’t swirling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, with that said, I think Par-5 scoring is there for the picking. I used the Rabbit Hole to target the best Par-5 scorers in the field, along with a few other golfers that I’m high on this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also run projections that feed our DFS optimizer and matchup simulator, and it also gives us a fantasy points score that aligns with the Underdog scoring. Since your slip will see a smaller payout if you pick the same side of a single stat (in this case, LOWER on Par-5s), I’m looking to balance my slip with a few fantasy point plays as well. Our projections have a handful of players in the 22.5 range, and their line on Underdog is much higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
