Compared to Friday, the top golfers in the model struggled in Saturday’s third round. Heading into Sunday, winds do not appear to have much impact on the action. Ben Martin has thus far managed to withstand charges up the leaderboard from numerous contenders and holds a two-shot lead over Chad Ramey. With both Martin and Ramey rarely ever being in this position on a Sunday, Jhonattan Vegas (+450), Thomas Detry (+1200) and Nate Lashley (+1400) all hold some value with their outright odds. Though Vegas is the most talented player, if I had to take the one with the most value, it would be Lashley who is four shots back. He is seventh in the field in ball-striking, has great course history here, and can get streaky hot with the putter.
Due to there being no Strokes Gained data, Driving Distance, Driving Accuracy and GIR% has been used to calculate Ball-Striking.
