Brian Stuard and Russell Knox

PGA DFS Value Picks: Zurich Classic

With half of the world’s top 10 (and 23 of the top 50) making an appearance at TPC Louisiana, we should admittedly be looking to build our core with quality players rather than dumpster-diving for gold. That leaves little compelling cheap value to roster even if we are trying to pay up for one of four teams priced over $10,000 on DraftKings. The following names are listed in order of importance and will be updated through Thursday morning:

Maverick McNealy-Joseph Bramlett ($7700 DK, $8500 FD)

With the sixth-longest driver on tour (Bramlett) and McNealy surging across the board (2.22 total strokes gained) in his last eight appearances, this pairing is one we’re comfortable locking in for both DFS and outright markets no matter how much interest they garner in tournaments. This duo also carries the seventh-highest birdie rate in this field, averaging four per round.

Brian Stuard-Russell Knox ($7500 DK, $8500 FD)

Only Ryan Armour (72.1%) has found more fairways off the tee than Stuard (71.1%) year-to-date, while Knox (73.3%) trails only Jon Rahm (73.5%) in average Greens In Regulation in that span. In other words, this team is in a terrific position to hunt birdies, all the while keeping their fingers crossed that putts fall.

Peter Uihlein-Richy Werenski ($6900 DK, $7900 FD)

Whether it’s on DraftKings on FanDuel, this team allows us to spend up for one (if not two) pairings priced above $10,000. They are also the only individuals we would consider below $7000 (and $8000 on FD) given the lack of valuable options in a significantly large (and strong) field. Not only does Uihlein bring the heat in averaging 307.1 yards off the tee, these two have quietly combined for five top-40 finishes (and three top-30) in their last five tournaments.

Joel Dahmen-Stephan Jaeger ($7500 DK, $8100 FD)

The only concern with this pairing is that, of late, it has been a one-man show: Dahmen remains seventh on tour in GIR (71%) and 18th in driving accuracy (67.8%) and has six straight cuts to show for it. Any help from Jaeger could push them into the weekend.
