While the WGC at Austin CC was the main event on the PGA Tour this weekend, we also had an entertaining tournament down in the Dominican Republic. Chad Ramey, who kicked off the tournament with +5100 outright odds, cashed some big money tickets on his way to a tight win in the Dominican. Ramey finished the weekend at -17 and a close win over a pair of -16 and -15 finishes. Ramey also hit on his Top 5 odds at +1400, Top 10 odds at +700, and Top 20 odds at +390.
Other Notables
- Defending Corales Puntacana champ, Joel Dahmen, entered the tournament with the second-shortest outright odds at +1900. Unfortunately, after an opening-round 71, Dahmen withdrew before the second round (illness).
- The betting favorite heading into the tournament was Jhonattan Vegas at +1700. Jhonny Vegas had himself a nice weekend and put himself into a position to win on Sunday with a 65 on Saturday. Vegas fell short of repeating as champion with a -15 T4 finish, but Vegas still cashed any Top 5 (+460), Top 10 (+290), and Top 20 (+187) tickets.
- Not sure how many Ben Martin Top 5, Top 10, or Top 20 tickets were out there this weekend but if you had them, congrats! Ben Martin entered the tournament at +21000 to win outright. While he didn’t quite do that, finishing just a shot off the lead, he did hit on Top 5 at +3800, Top 10 at +2200, and Top 20 at +1050, depending on when tickets were bet.
