The PGA Tour wraps up the Florida swing this week with the Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida. Known for its challenging layout, Copperhead features the “Snake Pit,” a three-hole stretch that can significantly impact the leaderboard. The course plays fast and narrow, with elevation changes and tree-lined fairways resembling a Carolina course.
Scoring is tough, making ball striking essential, especially for hitting the small poa trivialis greens. This 7,352-yard, par-71 course includes five long par-3s and shorter par-4s in the 400-450-yard range. Players will need to make strategic decisions off the tee, and with thicker rough this year, expect the winning score to be around -10, rather than the higher scores seen in recent years.
