Scott Stallings – 3 shots back (+2500 BetMGM) – Gained in every area on Thursday. Can get streaky hot, especially on Bermuda. One of the best players in the field over the past three months.

Sepp Straka – 3 shots back (+4000 DraftKings) – One of the most inconsistent and frustrating players to back because you just never know when he is going to show up and play well. He has made a habit of performing better on Bermuda courses though. Gained over 2.2 strokes ball striking and with his putter which is a great sign.
Nick Hardy – 4 shots back (+9000 DraftKings) – Leads the entire field in ball striking after the opening round by gaining 4.27 strokes. His short game is what failed him on Thursday as he lost 2.25 around the green and with the flat stick. He is typically a much better putter than he showed. He also gets to play early on Friday when the winds are forecast to be calmer.

Weather Forecast – Jackson, MS

The weather-wave split that forecasted lighter winds for the morning golfers never materialized on Thursday. Players in the afternoon shot 0.78 strokes better than those that teed off earlier in the day. Friday’s forecast looks very similar so who knows.
