The course will be a composite of two of the courses here, using holes from both the East and West courses. From the LIV Website: “Holes 9-10 and 12-18 of the East course, redesigned by LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner Greg Norman in 2012, will provide hole Nos. 1-9 for the composite course. The back nine of the West course, redesigned by former Australian pro, Mike Clayton, will provide hole Nos. 10-18 for the composite course”
Fun Fact: the East Course was the venue where Greg Norman got his first professional win back in 1976
A classic sandbelt-style course, the Grange has tons of strategic bunkering both around the greens and near fairway landing zones. Some of which are pretty deep. The scoring will still be quite low due to the relatively short total yardage, but there are still some tough multi-tiered greens and tight fairways that can get golfers in trouble if they are errant in their ball striking.

Last year saw the first ever hole-in-one in a LIV competition, made by Chase Koepka at the infamous “Watering Hole”. 2023’s champion was Talor Gooch, who shot back-to-back 62s. The Four Aces won the team competition.
In 2023, the toughest hole was the Par-3 3rd, which is the 12th hole on the East Course. The image below (from the Grange website) is in meters, so it will play around 250 yards. Last year’s scoring average was 3.181 for the field.

There were some complaints from members after the event, but it appears that this tournament will continue to be held here. Australia is a country that continually produces world-class golfers, but has lacked bigger events.
The Odds: Favorites and Longshots

The usual suspects at the top here, with Rahm, Niemann, Cam Smith, & Bryson leading the way. I fired on two bets in this one
Cam Smith +1100
Patrick Reed +3000
Both impressed me at times at Augusta and are well-suited to play here. Cam’s accuracy and familiarity with this sort of course should help and Reed’s just a grinder who thrives most places with his all-around game.
